La Brea Tar Pits, a set on Flickr.

Before we went to Fiji — we did a little sight-seeing in LA. I’ve always wanted to see the La Brea Tar Pits being the history fan that I am. It was a very enjoyable place. My only disappointment is that no one was working the pits that day which would have been nice to see. Here is a bit about them:

“The La Brea Tar Pits are a cluster of tar pits around which Hancock Park was formed, in the urban heart of Los Angeles. Asphaltum or tar has seeped up from the ground in this area for tens of thousands of years.”
